Photogrammetry

🚧 I'm still working on the technical aspects of the article, and I'd estimate that I'm about 30% done. I apologize for the delay. I wish I could speed up the process I'm hoping to have the article completed by February 2025.

Setup

Pay attention to lens selection, a 50mm prime lens is preferred. It's the one that will introduce the least distortion to the object. We're getting closer to human vision"

Tracking Sheets

Tracking sheets give a boost to the photogrammetric construction algorithm if the object is too featureless. In fact, Apple's photogrammetric API (object capture) is of such good quality that it doesn't even require a tracking sheet.

Creation

⁜ Christ

1:1 scale reproduction of a Christ arm. This piece will be installed in place of the original on a Christ statue located 20 meters high in a church in Normandy, La Manche. The arm will be retextured by artists on the day of installation.

Photogrammetric process. No need to use marker/tracker sheet, there is a lot of impurity on the object which greatly helps the photogrammetric algorithm construction.

Days of installation within the parish enclosure of the nuns of the city of Caen.

⁜ Monster Doll

These are two dolls made by Blaise Lacolley.

I created 3 mini animation videos for each of the dolls using Blender, viewable here :
